Cleared and stained frogs

  • In the images below, the artist cleared and stained the frogs, making them semi-transparent. This method of preparing amphibians leaves the flesh clear, while the bones are rendered red, and the cartilage becomes a washed-out blue tint.

  • NACOGDOCHES: Water level is 3.53 feet low and stained-to-clear. Water temp in the mid-70s.  Bass are fair to four pounds on Senkos, wacky worms, Texas rigs and frogs worked tight to shoreline cover and patches of flooded hay grass on shallow flats.

  • Black bass are good on black/blue soft plastics and hollow body frogs. Best bite is around flooded cover Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. FALCON: Water stained north, clear from marker 12 south; 70-74 degrees; 21.
