Fig newtons

  • Unlike most cookies, it is square, and unlike most offerings in the cookie aisle, Fig Newtons, as they were renamed shortly after being introduced, were called "cakes" on packaging until the 1980s, when they became "chewy cookies.

  • Note: Canned tuna plain is only meant for cats! Instead, EOSRedux suggests PB and saltines [and] Fig Newtons. [We also] did a number on all the Halloween candy that never got handed out.

  • Not being a fig connoisseur outside the realm of Newtonian physics cookies (and to the dinner colleague who trumpeted Strawberry Newtons I say again, "no one cares!") I can say I was hesitant.
  • (State Journal-Register)
  • (I dont like the new packaging on the Fig Newtons from Nabisco.) Many of the lesser-known mayoral candidates joined in an opening procession, wearing sashes smeared with glitter paint that had not fully dried.
