  • This was ugly. Really ugly. Like, the offspring of Medusa and Jabba The Hut ugly. The important thing is the win, but the second most important thing is the way the win was manufactured.

  • THE FACTS: Kobe Bryant made only three shots Saturday, but his third was the biggest -- a go-ahead 3-pointer with 20.2 left in the game that helped lead the Lakers to an 88-85 victory over the Hornets at Staples Center.

  • The Pacific Division-leading Lakers should have better luck in that department Saturday night against an offensively challenged New Orleans Hornets team that will likely be shorthanded.

  • Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Despite one of the worst shooting performances of his career, Kobe Bryant hit the shot that mattered most with the game on the line. Bryant rose up from the left wing and nailed a go-ahead three-pointer with 20.

  • Nash scored a season-high 30 points in a 120-103 victory on Feb. 1. The Hornets (13-39) have lost four of five, including an 88-85 defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday after giving up Kobe Bryants 3-pointer with 20 seconds left.

  • The Lakers, 4-4 since acquiring Ramon Sessions, get a get-well opportunity with New Orleans in town – and Emeka Okafor, Trevor Ariza, Gustavo Ayon out, Eric Gordon doubtful and Jarrett Jack and Chris Kaman questionable.
  • (Orange County Register)
  • Mar 31, 2012 - The Los Angeles Lakers look to get back on track on Saturday afternoon, hosting the New Orleans Hornets at Staples Center.
  • (SB Nation)
  • Kaman had missed four games heading into Saturdays game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The 7-foot center was part of the trade from the Los Angeles Clippers that netted Chris Paul.
