The new ipad

  • Because if you ask for the iPad 3, the Apple representatives will look at you funny. Last year's model was called the iPad 2, but this third-generation model is just called the iPad.
  • (New York Times)
  • That doesnt mean there arent other trade-offs. Mostly to make room for a larger battery, the new iPad weighs about 8% more and is about 7% thicker than the prior model.
  • (Wall Street Journal)
  • Let's get right to the point: If you don't already have an iPad, chances are you'll be very happy with the third-generation model that goes on sale Friday. If you already have an iPad 2, there's little need to upgrade.

  • The third-generation iPad doesn't hit Apple Store shelves until Friday at 8 a.m. local time — but a number of early reviews are already hitting the web.

  • Being on the LTE flavor of 4G is really, really nice. Apps download quickly. Web pages appear fast. You dont have to wait for videos to load before they start playing.
  • (Fresno Bee)
  • Apple versus Samsung. The iPad versus Galaxy Tab. IOS versus Android. Bitter rivalries until the very end, right? Not quite. If youre one of the expected millions of consumers who picks up Apples new iPad, youll be peering into a 9.
  • (Los Angeles Times)
  • As Apples first 4G LTE compatible device, the new iPad has a lot riding on its wings. And because it costs a pretty penny, it makes sense to consider every issue--including which 4G network is right for you.
